Member-only story
When I look at you, baby of mine,
I often wonder what you will be,
If I could fast forward time,
Is this what I would see?
Will you be kind, gentle and sweet?
Or will you be daring and bold?
Will you play your drum to a different beat,
And pay no mind to what you’re told?
Will you love music, dancing or art?
Will you be lighthearted or stern?
Will you be funny and witty and smart,
With a mind that’s eager to learn?
Will you tell me about your day,
Knowing I’ll always care?
Or will you be private and push me away,
Knowing deep down I will always be there?
I don’t know if you’ll be any of these things,
But I know I’ll love who you’ll grow to be,
Because no matter what the future brings,
You’ll always be perfect to me.
So baby of mine, whatever you do,
Always be yourself and know I love you.
