What Medium Publication Owners Want You to Know

“I have waited 48 hours for a publication to accept my submission. Should I remove my piece?”

“I requested to be a writer and I haven’t heard back. I don’t think that’s fair.”

“Why is [insert Medium Publication here] taking so long to accept submissions?”

“[Insert Medium Publication here] published my piece but I got hardly any views. I won’t be writing for them again.”

“They said I needed to change my title so I withdrew my submission.”

I love owning a publication. I took over Home Sweet Home in the Spring of this year and it has become my baby. It has become a safe place of writers to share their experiences of parenting and family without judgment. I love writing about parenting and family almost as much as I love reading about them. So of course, when the publication needed a new owner I jumped at the chance. And I don’t regret a thing.

However, I didn’t expect some things when I took over a publication. Suddenly, I wasn’t an individual anymore. People seemed to have the impression that owning Home Sweet Home was my full-time job.
